CARRIBEAN RESORT

Location | Jost Van Dyke Island, BVI

Perched above a tranquil bay on Jost Van Dyke Island in the BVI, the resort will accommodate up to 60 guests, featuring 16 hotel rooms, 4 three-bedroom villas, and 2 wellness retreat rooms. Each space is designed with modular flexibility to cater to various guest needs. The resort will include an infinity pool and an exclusive bar/restaurant for guests, ensuring a private, relaxed experience. Additionally, a public beach bar will welcome day visitors who wish to enjoy the scenic views and sample the house specialty drinks. The wellness center will be accessible to the public, offering a day spa and group yoga classes.

The development embraces sustainable design principles, aiming for carbon-neutral construction and operations. The structures will be built using a modular framework made from recycled materials, while locally sourced, sustainable materials minimize the need for transportation. The use of bamboo, grass, masonry, sand, and stone reflects a deep connection to the site, allowing the resort to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. A Category 5-rated hurricane shelter, designed to accommodate over 500 people, is a key feature, providing vital protection for the island community in times of need.

The construction strategy for the develeopment is split into two stages with the first stage currently under construction:

Stage 01 will focus on developing the beachfront area, including four 3-bedroom villas and two wellness retreat rooms, covering 35% of the approved build. The low-density accommodation will align with the local government’s blue economy strategy, supporting coastal commercial initiatives.

Stage 02 will add 16 hotel rooms, a wellness center, and a central services building at the rear of the site, which will also house staff accommodation, completing the resort’s infrastructure.
